Chinatown is a special part of Chicago. We are lucky to have the second largest Chinatown in the country. It is packed with authentic Chinese culture from the food, to the decor and small shops. It’s dense culture and rich history makes this neighborhood worthy of a spot on Chicago’s must see bucket list.

What We Like About Chinatown
We love the authenticity of Chinatown brought about by its historical significance in the city. We rated history and architecture a 90%. You can find culture in almost every corner of Chicago and it’s such a privilege to have so many of them represented in our city. In Chinatown, you can also see the culture depicted visually with beautiful Chinese decor all around the neighborhood. It is a lovely escape from the rest of the city.
The shops and restaurants in Chinatown are definitely hidden gems so we rated this category at 80%. It is the one place in the city you can experience authentic Chinese culture and that is one of the things that make this neighborhood special.
We gave Chinatown a 90% heartbeat score. Since it is the second largest Chinatown in the US, we can’t ignore it’s major role in Chicago’s greatness. In other words, Chinatown is a cool thing to have right in our backyard and just another reason to brag about all the things Chicago has to offer.
