This enchanting street festival returns for its 57th year in 2023, bringing the heart and soul of Sweden to the Windy City. Join us from June 9th to 11th as we celebrate Andersonville’s rich Swedish heritage through delightful music, mouthwatering cuisine, and captivating traditions.

Embark on a journey through time as you stroll through the charming streets of Andersonville, adorned with colorful decorations and brimming with festive energy. The Midsommarfest kicks off on Friday, June 9th, from 5 pm to 10 pm, followed by two full days of festivities on June 10th and 11th from 12 pm to 10 pm.

As you explore the festival, you’ll encounter authentic Swedish music and folk dance performances that will transport you to the quaint cobblestone streets of historic Stockholm. Marvel at the iconic maypole, a symbol of fertility and a centerpiece of Swedish Midsommar celebrations. Witness as it’s raised high into the sky, adorned with fresh flowers and greenery, and surrounded by dancers in traditional attire.

Savor the delectable flavors of Swedish cuisine as you indulge in a smorgasbord of culinary delights. From the savory taste of köttbullar (Swedish meatballs) to the sweet allure of kanelbullar (cinnamon buns), your taste buds will be whisked away on a gastronomic adventure.
